Romeo and Juliet

On January 28^th, 1^st and 2^nd ESO of SES Sant Llorenç de Morunys and ESO students of IES Francesc Ribalta went to watch the play Romeo and Juliet to Solsona's theatre. The play was very modern. There were actors who had two roles.

The argument of the play: There were two families, the Capulets and the Montagues. They were rivals. One day there was a party and a Montague, Romeo and a Capulet, Juliet, went to that party. But something happened while their families fought they fell in love. Juliet left her house to see Romeo without their parents knowledge. Once again, their families fought and this time Romeo's friend died and Romeo killed Juliet's cousin.

Juliet's parents wanted her to marry a rich man, but she married Romeo in secret. She wanted her parents to think she was dead and she asked a friar to prepare a poison that made her sleep for 2 days, but Romeo didn't know her plan and he thought that she was really dead. Then he killed himself and Juilet woke up and found Romeo dead and she killed herself.

When the play finished the actors introduced themselves and we asked them some questions. Then we went back to sant Llorenç. In our opinion the play was very good and it's an opportunity to practise and learn English.


L'amor i la passió que caracteritzen l'obra de Romeo and Juliet van agradar d'allò més, però el que més va sobtar va ser com una història d'amor pot acabar en tragèdia. Per cert, el vestuari, els mòbils, el hip-hop i els efectes especials van ser el que més va agradar!
